Character Limits
Xbox gamertags can be between 1 and 12 characters long. You can use letters, numbers, and single spaces between words.
What's Prohibited
Xbox prohibits hate speech, slurs, sexually explicit content, or anything that impersonates Xbox staff or other players.
Spaces Are Allowed Now
Since Xbox updated its system, you can include a single space between words. "Dark Wolf" is a valid modern gamertag.
Suffixes for Duplicate Names
If your chosen name is taken, Xbox automatically appends a numeric suffix like "DarkWolf#1234".
